Medical policy & refund details
Diabetes Management at Family Camp
At the Diabetes Network of Arizona Family Camp, we prioritize the health and safety of all our campers. A dedicated team of trained medical staff, including a medical director, will be available onsite throughout the camp to assist with any medical needs related to diabetes management.
However, the primary responsibility for managing each camper's diabetes remains with the individual or their designated caregiver.
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where families can maintain their typical diabetes management routines. We encourage caregivers to make most of the decisions regarding their loved one's care, including insulin dosing, monitoring blood glucose levels, and responding to low or high blood sugars.
In the event that the medical team needs to step in and provide treatment, a signed waiver will be obtained prior to any interventions. This ensures that we can act in the best interest of the camper's health while respecting the family's preferences and established care practices.
Our medical staff is here to offer support, guidance, and care as needed, and we aim to empower families with the knowledge and confidence to manage diabetes in a camp setting.
